           Mr. Patel has also successfully represented numerous companies in a diverse array of transactional matters and negotiations, and has counseled clients on legal issues relating to various aspects of their business.  Informed by his substantial litigation experience, Mr. Patel approaches these matters by deftly anticipating how a court would likely interpret transactional language and other business choices and actions in the event litigation later ensues.  With these insights and the insights he has gained through his extensive transactional and advisory experience, Mr. Patel works proactively to craft transactions and provide legal guidance that not only accomplish his clients’ business goals but also avoid potential litigation landmines and minimize liability and risk exposure.

Judicial Externships
           During law school, Mr. Patel served as a full-time judicial extern to the Honorable Edmund F. Brennan, United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.
 
Education
           Mr. Patel earned a Juris Doctor, with distinction, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.  While attending McGeorge, Mr. Patel sat on the Board of Editors of the McGeorge Law Review, and was one of three students at McGeorge to serve as a staff writer on both of the school’s legal journals simultaneously.  Prior to attending law school, Mr. Patel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, summa cum laude, from the University of California, Riverside.  Mr. Patel attended UC Riverside as a Regents Scholar, completed his education in only three years, and graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors.
